Data tells the story — we synthesize, process, and write about those stories and publish them in peer-reviewed journals, converse with colleagues, and present the information to the research community and public. The Proficiency in Ocean Data Science minor educates undergraduate students so they can contribute to ocean data-based investigation of ocean phenomena.
The Proficiency in Ocean Data Science (PODS) curriculum is
comprised of four foundational oceanography courses (150,
250, 350 and
351), and at least one capstone research experience, in service
to the PODS taxonomy.
Faculty and research scientists interested in data techniques
for collection, management, and analysis to support ocean science
understanding and insight.
